Police Worldwide have relied on service animals to help prevent, solve and detect crime.
Traditionally horses were the transport of their day and continue to be a vital part of law enforcement. Mounted Police conduct search and rescue, patrol terrain vehicles cannot go, suppress riots and promote public relations.
Police dogs track down offenders or find missing persons, defend other police officers and detect illegal substances.
Police animals have died in the line of duty. To Honour them please wear a purple poppy every 24th February.
